Binsar, the former capital of the Chand Rajas of Kumaun, Raja Kalyan Chand built a temple of Shiva it was Lord Bineshwar, so the hill called Binsar. A walk through the dense oak and rhododendron forest leads to a vantage point at Binsar's summit, which gives an uncluttered view of the Himalayan range and the surrounding valley - an area flourishing with alpine flora, ferns, hanging moss and countless species of wild flowers. This trek is easy throughout and highly recommended for those looking for a gentle trek. It also gives you the time to enjoy and soak up the rich and diverse geography, culture and wildlife of this region.

Route of the trail ( Itinerary):-

Day 01- Arrive at Kathgodam and drive to Jageshwar (130 km.) It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga in the country, visit a sacred temple complex of 124 temples built in the 10th to 14th century A. D. you can also check out the rock shelters at Lakhu Udiyar, on the way of Jageshwar. The cave replete with ancient line drawings, offer an insight into the life of the prehistoric men who dwelled here in the Stone Age. Dinner and night halt in hotel or camp.

Day 02- After breakfast Nature trek to JHAKAR SAM 4 k.m. Know about flora and fauna in the Himalaya area then visit the temple where local village people coming to get special power of god. Trek back to hotel / camp. Evening a program of Kumauni folk dance Choliya, It is a popular dance in the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand Himalaya.

Day 03- After breakfast trek to Dholchina 11 kms.on way visit Bridha-jageshwar and Haria-top, as the name suggests, it is a 'green flat top' that offers an expansive view of the Himalayas, including ranges of Western Nepal. Check in Binsar Camp Dholchina Enjoy Herbal tea (Made by Bramhi, Thyme, Tulsi) Night dinner at camp.

Day 04- After breakfast visit Anand mai ashram .Maa observed this place when she was passing through Dholchina on way to Kailash Mansarowar yatra. In the evening, adventure activities (RAFFLING, ROCK CLIMBING, etc.)/ Bird watching / Nature trek, back to Eco camp.

Day 05- After breakfast trek to Binsar (2350 m.) 8 kms. We will enter the Binsar wildlife sanctuary, the Binsar forest cover mostly oak, Rododendron, Pine trees. According to the 2005 census, Binsar was home of the 16 Leopards, 69 Ghoral, 43 Kakar, 57 wild boar, 150 Monkeys (with bleak face) 2 Himalayan bleak bears and around 200 species of resident and migratory birds. In the evening trek to sun set point (FRH) then back to Hotel.

Day 06- After breakfast enjoy bird watching & flora & fauna in BINSAR 0 Point and see the view of Chaukhamba (7138m.), Trishul(7120m.), Nanda devi(7816m.), Nanda kot(6861m.),Nanda ghunti(6020m.) And Panchchuli peaks (6904m.) etc. After lunch trek to Shiva temple (15th century) then back to Hotel. Over night stay in Binsar.

Day 07- After breakfast drive to Almora (40 km.) It was founded by Raja Kalyan chand in 1563 A.D. when he shifted his capital from Champawat. Visit the Nanda devi temple & old bazaar . Mainly north Indian hill stations discovered and developed by the British but Almora is a truly Indian hill resort. After lunch drive back to Kathgodam (90 km.) Railway station.
