Tapovan Trek

Tapovan is an ideal location for the tourists looking for peace and adventure. Tapovan is located on an altitude of 4463m / 14640ft above sea level. Tapovan is base camp for shivlinga peak in Uttarakhand hills. One can also have a nice view of bhagirathi peaks from tapvan medow. Every year this place has been visited by thousands of tourist including foreigners for adventure activity like mountaineering & trekking Tapovan .

Accessibility : Take the overnight Mussoorie Express (10:15pm) from Delhi to reach Haridwar early in the morning.

Route of the trail ( Itinerary):-

Day 01:- Arrival in the Arlee morning at Haridwar then drive to drive to Uttarkashi. Check into the Hotel. Evening: visit Nehru institute of mountaineering.

Day 02:- After breakfast drive to drive to Gangotri (3046m.) Check in the Hotel. Visit the Gangotri temple.

Day 03:- After breakfast 13 km. trek to Bhojbasa ,On the way Chirbasha 3350m. enjoy view of the three Bhagirathi peaks. The trek passes through rugged terrain, sometimes crossing small streams. We pitch tents at Bhujbasha 3800m.

Day 04:- After breakfast 9 km. trek to Topaven 4460m. On the way, we pass Goumukh 3969m. (The source of the Ganga ). The path winds through huge boulders, loose rocks. The Gangotri glacier covered with numerous glaciated boulders and crevasses. At the base of the Shivling peak (6543m.) we pitch our tents.

Day 05:- After breakfast, Free day in Tapovan to explore the surrounding area.

Day 06:- After breakfast trek down to Goumuk and then Chirbasa to spend a night exploring the banks of the Gunga.

Day 07:- After breakfast 8 km. trek to Gangotri, then drive to Uttarkashi. Check in the Hotel. Evening free in Uttarkashi, Visit market etc. overnight at Hotel.

Day 08:- After breakfast drive to Haridwar railway station.
